Big and Small

Big things are beautiful;
a canyon gorge deep
a breath-taking view.
The mountain side steep
and ocean so blue.
A great redwood tree
and vast prairie plains
as far as I can see.

And small things are beautiful;
A butterfly wing,
the beak of a bird
that breaks open to sing.
An opening bud,
the veins of a leaf
a baby bunny,
one child's belief.
